I've been getting sloppy this year. I keep forgetting to post. I forgot to take a picture of week 14. I just put it all away, and I am not linking to the recipes that are on here. Bad webmama, bad! Anywho, I will just get on with it.
Week 13: fennel, cucumber, beets, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, beans, collards, onions, jalapenos, anaheims, and a watermelon that was dropped getting into the house.
What I made: cucumber fennel salad, watermelon and some tomatoes in tummies, collards with quinoa, green beans with onion/tomato/anaheim ragout, potatoes in breakfast burritos, jalapenos in adai batter/salsa/pickles, onions in everything, and vinegar roasted beets.
Week 14 (no picture): beets and carrots (if I have to chose between these I am basically choosing between baby girl and middlest as one loves carrots and one loves beets, so getting both was nice), potatoes, zucchini, roasted peppers, green beans, cantaloupe, onions, and eggplant.
What I made: carrots and cantaloupe in bellies, pickled beets, shaved zucchini salad, roasted pepper salsa, roasted pepper/squash blossom soup, onions in everything, blanched green beans, eggplant in sizchuan pickles, potatoes for later.

CSA week 11 and week 12

What I made: tomatoes and carrots into tummies right away; cucumber and parsley in salad; zucchini and eggplant in sichuan pickles; roasted cauliflower with onions; potato salad with onions and parsley; green beans, zucchini, eggplant, and onion tempura; garlic in everything.
Week 12: carrots, beets, kale, shishito peppers, potatoes, zucchini, pickling cukes, onions, and garlic.
What I made: carrots in tummies, kale salad, new pickles, pickled beets, seared shishito peppers, onions in bread and butter pickles (with pickles I bought from the same farm), garlic in everything, potatoes and zucchini for later.

CSA week 9 and 10
We are back from our trip, but not fully caught up. I am just combining these for my own sanity.
Week 9: Collards, kale, beets, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, basil, zucchini, and garlic
What I made: Southern style collards, braised kale with tomatoes and garlic, lots of salads, red flannel hash with beets and potatoes, shredded zucchini in sauces and bakes, mint/basil/garlic pesto, and the carrots just went straight into the kids bellies within an hour of pickup.
Week 10: Chard, beets, cucumber, double broccoli, carrots, zucchini, spring onions, purple beans, and tarragon
What I plan on making (since pickup was last night): Tempura beans, jerk roasted broccoli, zucchini fritters, stuffed chard with bulgur, spring onion soup, tarragon to dry and in dressings, carrots are gone in bellies already, and the beets... TBD.

CSA week 5
This is our last CSA for awhile, we are headed out on a 3 week road trip and I am scheduling posts to publish while we are gone. Our CSA is going to our wonderful cat/house/fish/babysitter who will enjoy it, but clearly not document it for me.
This week we got double sugar snap peas, double spinach, lettuce, turnips, red russian kale and I picked pea shoots over basil, since I have a big basil plant that will need to be pruned before we leave.
What I made: Turnips and snap peas right eaten raw, salad with lettuce and pea shoots, braised kale with quinoa, and a big batch of sauteed spinach.

This week we got two pints of strawberries, two bags of spinach, arugula, snap peas, pea shoots, radishes, and garlic scapes.
What I made: Sauteed spinach with scapes (twice), snap peas and strawberries in bellies, arugula-pea shoot salad (twice), and radishes in a tofu-quinoa salad.

CSA week 2
I may be in over my head with the large share I signed up for this year. So much food to cook in a week before the next giant batch of food is ready for pick up. This week we got spinach, harukei turnips, two portions of bok choy, red russion kale, broccoli rabe, lettuce, rhubarb, and pea shoots.
What I made: bok choy with tofu and mung bean noodles, kale quinoa salad, pea shoots in tummies, pea shoot/lettuce/arugula salad, sauteed broccoli rabe with lemon and garlic scapes, spinach in adai, spinach and potato curry, lettuce in sandwiches, roasted turnips, and rhubarb galette.

CSA week 1
Yay! It's CSA season. This year we moved up to a large share so I can't compare apples to apples in pictures but I do know what we received more of as a large share. Our CSA also has eggs this year, so we will have a dozen of those each week.
This week we got all the spring greens: walking onions, green garlic, chives, arugula, sorrel, spinach, and radishes. For the large share we also got rhubarb and an extra bag of spinach.
What I made: Sorrel, radish, and chive salad; rhubarb pie; red lentil and green garlic soup; arugula and unchicken salad; spinach dal; spinach in adais; sauteed spinach twice (there is a lot of spinach in those plastic bags); creamy potatoes with chives; and grilled walking onions.

CSA week 24
The end of the season. Sad but necessary. We are glad to have such great farmers that bring us such great food.
This week we got apples and pears for fruit. For vegetables we got a butternut squash, spinach, kale, rutabagas, japanese turnips, beets, garlic, and carrots. As an added bonus baby girl helped Wyatt gather eggs and we took home seven. We look forward to next year when it starts up again.
What I made: Applesauce, pears, turnips, and carrots in bellies, roasted beets, sauteed spinach, sauteed cauliflower, smashed rutabagas, frittata with spinach and arugula from last week, and butternut squash for later.

CSA week 23 (bonus round)
Whoops! I didn't post a recipe again. We went camping to enjoy the last warm weekend of the season and it was fun, but I didn't get to posting anything. This week I promise. I am actually going to do it right now and schedule it so I can't forget again.
For our CSA they still have crops, so they did a mini two-week CSA. We went for a large share this time since most of it will be root vegetables which I can store. In the swing of summer we just do a regular share, that way we can still go to the farmers market and buy from other farms and get things that we really love without worrying about having lots of other stuff at home.
Okay, this week with the large share we didn't have choices, we just got one of everything. We got apples and pears for fruit. We got potatoes, arugula, spinach, milan turnips, watermelon radishes, rutabagas, butternut squash, and carrots.
What I made: carrots and pears in tummies, applesauce, quick radish pickles (with radishes from last week also), rutabagas and turnips mashed with butter and salt, arugula salad and in sandwiches, sauteed spinach, then potatoes, remaining turnips, and squash for later.

CSA week 22
The last official delivery of our CSA. We will have two more extra weeks (for extra money), since they still have crops growing. This week we all got pie pumpkins (we got two since I actually brought a pie as thanks), potatoes, radishes, onions, and carrots. I picked kale over sunchokes and spinach over lettuce. We had apples and pears in our fruit share.
I didn't have my camera with me at pick up which meant that by the time I got home the carrots were already gone, but you can see the stems. Also, I didn't post a recipe this week as it was baby girl's birthday and party and I was a little busy.

CSA week 21
Oh the season is winding way, way down. It doesn't help we had a six hour long hard freeze with temps in the 20s. That pretty much stops the growing season for everything but hardy greens and root vegetables. This week we all got fingerling potatoes, a butternut squash, and watermelon radishes. I picked baby chard over lettuce, cauliflower over broccoli or cabbage, and shallots over red onions. We have more apples and pears in our fruit share.
What I made: applesauce, apples and pears in bellies (I introduced eldest to pears w/peanut butter and mayo, he is a fan like mom), baby chard with quinoa and onions, roasted cauliflower and fingerling potatoes, sliced radishes with salt, shallots and butternut squash for later. I think I am storing up too much squash, I will need to cook some soon.

CSA week 19
No, not more squash, the summer is really coming to an end fast. This week all got delicata squash, potatoes, and beans. I chose beets over turnips, lettuce over red peppers, and onions over parsley or jalapenos. We also got a lot of apples in our fruit share. Mmm applesauce.
What I made: beets and onions for later, mashed potatoes, pickled beans, squash chutney, apples in bellies and in applesauce, lettuce for salads and sandwiches.

CSA week 18
I know I have not posted a new recipe, but since we were in traveling for two weeks I kinda forgot. I need to get better about scheduling posts. I promise to post a recipe this weekend.
So for our CSA this week everyone got eggplant and acorn squash (NO!, not winter squash that means summer is ending). I picked beans over broccoli, arugula over spicy salad, slicing tomatoes over seconds or black cherries, and bell peppers over roasted chiles. We also have apples and pears for our fruit share.
What I made: Apples and pears in bellies, bell peppers sliced raw, tomato soup, sauteed green beans, eggplant dip, arugula in sandwiches and salads, and squash for storing (I won't accept the end of summer yet).

CSA week 17
Yep, week 17, we have been traveling for almost two weeks and week 16 was picked up by a friend. This week we all got onions, new potatoes, and peppers. I picked tomato seconds over slicing tomatoes, beans over broccoli, and arugula over spicy salad mix. For fruit we have apples and pears.
What I made: pears and apples in bellies, the new potatoes, beans, and arugula went into a tuna-less salad nicoise, the tomato seconds and onions were made into a hybrid tomato paste/ketchup that I froze into cubes to add to things all winter. The peppers will be grilled this weekend with some vegetables from the farmers market. Grilling season is almost over and I want to make sure we get one last round of sweet summer corn.

CSA week 15
We are headed out on a road trip and I won't be back for two weeks. My husband will actually be home, but he rarely cooks for himself other than peanut butter toast. So this week I made my choices and I got lucky with things that can be stored.
We all got potatoes, onions, carrots, and bell peppers. More peaches and plums for our fruit. I picked slicing tomatoes over cherry or zebra, italian eggplant over japanese or beets, and chiles over basil. Eldest actually picked the chiles, boy after my own heart.
What I made: carrots and plums didn't make it out of the car, onions, pototaoes, and chiles (minus one my eldest ate) for later, ancho-eggplant spread, caprese salad w/basil from my garden, bell peppers and peaches for the road trip.

CSA week 14
I am having a hard time waiting for the tomatoes to come. I know they are coming, but I want, want, want now. Besides I can 90lbs each September, so I am ready to get started as soon as I can.
This week we got peaches and plums again. Everyone got leeks and cherry tomatoes and a bonus cantaloupe. I picked cucumbers over zucchini or trombocini, eggplant over fennel, potatoes over kale, and shishito peppers over bell.
What I made: Grilled shishito eaten like candy, plums in bellies for breakfast, cherry tomatoes in bellies for snacks, cantaloupe for breakfast, grilled eggplant, peach cobbler, pesto roasted potatoes, and leeks for later.

CSA week 13
Some much fruit this week. Well technically almost all fruit. For our fruit share we had plums and peaches. Everyone got onions, green beans, and either one big or two little melons. I went for the two little cantaloupe and honeydew. We picked zucchini over cucumbers or squash and promptly traded it for the cherry tomatoes which I knew my boys wanted. We picked beets over cauliflower and regular eggplant over japanese.
What I made: Plums didn't last the night, sliced peaches for breakfast, tomatoes for snacks, melon cubes for another breakfast, eggplant ancho spread, sauteed green beans, onions in lots of things, and simple boiled beets with salt.

CSA week 12
We are at the mid-summer lull between the burst of spring and the cooler weather crops. Right now all the winter squash and potatoes are fattening up and the tomatoes are almost ready, so today we had less, but that only means more later.
We are headed out of town for the weekend so we chose pickling cukes over zucchini, roasted chiles over new potatoes, yellow beans over green beans, and cherry tomatoes over heirlooms. Everyone got a cantaloupe and basil. We had a bag of peaches for our fruit share.
What I made: Cherry tomatoes straight into bellies, canned peaches for the winter (since we are out of town for five days), I started a batch of lacto-pickles, chiles in freezer for later, cantaloupe for breakfast, and wax beans simmered with tomatoes for dinner. I am hoping the basil will last until we are back when we should have more basil ready in our own garden to make my third batch of pesto with.
